Medical examiners are appointed and employed exclusively by the CIUSSS Board of Directors, on the recommendation of the Council of Physicians, Dentists and Pharmacists (CPDP). They implement the examination procedure when a complaint is lodged against a physician, dentist, pharmacist or medical resident who is a member of the CPDP and practises with organizations under their jurisdiction. Each medical examiner is accountable to the Board of Directors for the examinations he or she conducts and the conclusions he or she reaches. Medical examiners investigate all complaints made by users or others, and collaborate with the Office of the Service Quality and Complaints Commissioner on organizational matters.
The Office of the Medical Examiners can be contacted by using the same contact information as specified for the Office of the Service Quality and Complaints Commissioner.
