The Jewish General Hospital’s Telehealth Intervention Program for Older Adults creates social contact and ensures the basic needs of people ages 65 and older are met.
Montreal, March 24, 2021 – The Telehealth Intervention Program for Older Adults was launched in April 2020 during the first wave of COVID-19 by the Jewish General Hospital (JGH) Department of Psychiatry of the Mental Health and Addiction Program of CIUSSS West-Central Montreal.
“The first wave of the pandemic was challenging for some of our seniors,” said Dr. Soham Rej, the JGH geriatric psychiatrist who launched this program. “We know our phone calls have been helping older adults. We believe needs are even greater during this second wave and we want to extend this program to older adults who need it in the Greater Montreal Area.”
