As of December 1, Santé Québec will become the sole employer of our health and social services network. This transition represents a significant advancement toward ensuring smooth and efficient care delivery across the province—core to our mission at CIUSSS West-Central Montreal.
You may wonder, however, what exactly will change?
By uniting 30 health and social service establishments under a single employer, Santé Québec, among many priorities, aims to:
- Increase mobility between establishments
- Share best practices
- Transfer knowledge and expertise among research centres, universities, and health establishments
- Avoid redundant efforts by streamlining administrative tasks with optimized tools
As a public corporation, Santé Québec will also be led by an independent board, with the goal of operating objectively and without political influence.
Furthermore, each establishment will maintain a CEO. Supported by our exceptional leadership team, I will continue to collaborate with counterparts across the network to meet the population's needs effectively.
As we stand on the brink of this transformation, I want to remind you of our greatest strengths at CIUSSS West-Central Montreal: adaptability and collective resilience. Our goals are closely aligned with the guiding principles set by Santé Québec, ensuring continuity in our mission.
While change can seem daunting, it brings opportunities for growth and innovation that we should welcome with an open mind.
As such, we will stay focused on our commitment to Care Everywhere— our broad-based philosophy that focuses on achieving the right outcomes by delivering the right care at the right time in the location that’s most appropriate, safest and most convenient for healthcare users.
Outside of that, our success hinges on the exceptional qualities that each and every one of our employees bring to our team, which translates to better care for our users. For this, we are deeply thankful.
