The CAFE (Crise-Ado-Famille-Enfance, Teen-Family-Youth Crisis) Program was developed for children age 0 to 17 and their family who are experiencing a major family crisis.
Our team of social workers, psycho-educators and specialized educators aims to find solutions that avoid placement or reporting to the Direction de la protection de la jeunesse (DPJ). The CAFE team can intervene in situations of severe conflict between parent and child, where there is a risk of a breakdown in the relationship or an imminent risk of acting out. CAFE can also intervene in cases of psychological distress or when a family member's security and basic needs are at risk.
Our CAFE team:
- Is available 24 hours a day–7 days a week, 365 day a year
- Offers brief and intensive psychological support, and can who can show up on site, as needed
- Follows up to ensure that the crisis has been resolved
