Vaccination for pregnant women

Vaccination is intended to prevent whooping cough in children during their first months of life. The vaccinated mother develops protective antibodies and passes them on to the fetus via the placenta. As a result, the baby is born with a high level of antibodies against whooping cough. This protects against infection before the first routine vaccination at two months of age.

Who can receive this vaccine?

Pregnant women during each pregnancy, regardless of their previous vaccination history or the interval since the last dose. Vaccination is ideal between the 26th and 32nd weeks of gestation. However, the vaccine can be administered until the end of pregnancy, if it has not been administered before 33 weeks of gestation.
