What is the role of the Rapid Access to Addiction Medicine (RAAM) clinic?

The RAAM is a walk-in clinic for people seeking help with substance use and addiction. This includes people who want to try medical assistance to reduce or stop their substance use.

No appointment required

Operating hours: Every Thursday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Location: CLSC Métro, 1801 De Maisonneuve Ouest, Montréal, 3rd floor 

Who is it for?

  • Anyone seeking support for substance use who isn’t currently connected with a service or being supported 
  • Anyone experiencing or likely to experience frequent intoxication or overdose symptoms, or unpleasant withdrawal symptoms when attempting to reduce or cease their substance use 
  • Anyone experiencing or likely to experience substance-related health issues 

What to expect at the Clinic

Depending on your needs, our team may ask for some relevant information on your substance use. Examples include: How long have you been using? How frequently? What amount? How does this affect your life? 

The information you share with us can help us connect you to the best service to meet your needs: 

  • We will help you navigate the system and resources.
  • We will connect you directly with medical and non-medical detoxification services, and with in-patient and outpatient addiction services. 
  • We will put you in touch with health professionals (including for STBBI screening or other needs).
  • We will connect you with medical assistance, including possible opioid agonist therapy.
  • You will also have access to education and information on substance use and strategies for safer use, as well as to safe materials to reduce the risks.
