Assessment clinic
This clinic is for persons referred to a specialized service by a family doctor. Patients are seen just once by a psychiatrist, who may provide a diagnosis, recommend treatment, or refer patients to services better equipped to meet their needs.
Cultural consultation
The cultural consultation team examines the cultural and social factors that may affect the diagnosis and interventions provided to an individual and makes recommendations to clinical teams. This team accepts referrals from outside the Psychiatry department.
This team consists of the following:

- Researchers
- Members of the user’s cultural community
Collaborative services
Psychiatric consultations are offered to various community partners such as the Goldman Herzl Family Practice Centre and teams covering adult mental health care at CLSC de Benny Farm and CLSC de Saint-Laurent.
Our consultation-liaison services
Perinatal mental health services
Perinatal mental health services are for women experiencing mental health issues before or during pregnancy and up to six months following delivery at the Jewish General Hospital.
Our psychiatric follow-up services
Mood and anxiety disorders service
The Mood and anxiety disorders service is for adults 23 to 65 years of age who need treatment for depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and other conditions.
Adult psychotic disorders service
The Adult Psychotic Disorders Service is for 25- to 65-year-olds with a primary psychotic disorder diagnosis, such as schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, who need long-term follow-up. The team works in close partnership with teams in the community (including specific mental health services and ACT, ISM, and LICM mobile teams).
Geriatric psychiatry clinic
Conducts psychiatric assessments and recommends appropriate treatment for persons over 65 years of age who exhibit psychiatric symptoms or related behavioural problems.

Couple and family therapy service
Couple and Family Therapy aims to improve the functioning of individuals, couples and families.
Cognitive behaviour therapy clinic
Outpatient service that provides cognitive behaviour treatment to people with a variety of problems and diagnoses (15 to 25 sessions).
Short-term psychotherapy service
Individual sessions for adults referred for short-term psychodynamic psychotherapy.
Personality disorders clinic
Group and individual therapy (6 to 24 months) for individuals with severe personality disorders.
Psychotherapy support group
Weekly support group. Long-term follow-up.

- French classes (spoken and written)
- Computer basics classes (offered at the YMHA)
- Physical exercise groups at a local community centre
- Healthy eating on a budget

Recovery groups to help individuals manage their conditions

- Creativity group: Preparing for community integration through art

Day hospital program (ages 16.5 to 65)
The Adult Psychiatry Day Treatment Program is a therapeutic, intensive and structured eight-week intervention. It aims to promote recovery and reduce hospitalization for patients with acute mental health problems. The goal of the program is to help these patients resolve their immediate crises, regain function, and reintegrate into the community. It operates within a holistic, psychotherapeutic and patient-centred framework.

Trauma-focused therapy program
The Trauma-Focused Therapy Program is a specialized psychotherapy program to help people overcome the impact of childhood and adult trauma. It uses a stepped care model primarily using group therapy. This program is reserved for patients who receive services from our Psychiatry department.
