The Youth in Difficulty team is composed of social workers, psychoeducators, and specialized educators who work with young people aged 6 to 17 and their families to support them in facing psychosocial difficulties that impact their functioning, personal development, and/or social relationships.
These services address, among other things, issues such as:
- adaptation of new arrivals
- adaptation to various life transitions
- development
- discipline and structure
- behavior
- related to family and domestic violence
- mental health, addiction, suicidal ideation
- neglect and/or lack of resources, etc.
The range of services is varied to meet the needs and reality of the young person and their family, including:
- individual, parental, or family follow-up
- targeted intervention groups
- workshops, e.g., Workshops for parents of teenagers
The follow-up can take place at the CLSC or in the young person's living environment.
The team of practitioners works closely with the school environment and community partners to offer the best possible follow-up.
